Watchdog Journal is an independent newsroom that investigates wrongdoing by individuals, corporations, and institutions: fraud, deception, abuse of trust, financial misconduct, and the gap between what the powerful claim and what the record shows.
We publish long-form investigations built on primary documents — court records, corporate registries, financial filings, archived pages, and on-the-record statements — classified under a transparent evidence standard. Our editorial question is always the same: does the documentary record support what this person or institution wants the public to believe?
What we cover
Our investigations are organized under six topics: Corporations, Government, Institutions, Public Figures, Fraud & Deception, and Media.
A note on the Government desk: it is our enforcement desk. It tracks what regulators, courts, and public agencies are doing about wrongdoing — enforcement actions, rulings, penalties, and the records they generate — which are among the richest primary sources in accountability journalism.
How we are funded
Watchdog Journal is independently financed. We accept no donations, no payment for coverage, no payment for the removal of coverage, and no advertising from the industries we investigate.
Threats and intimidation
Watchdog Journal does not remove, alter, or soften published reporting in response to threats — legal, financial, or personal. A demand to take down an investigation is not a correction process; it is pressure, and pressure is not evidence.
If we got something wrong, show us the documents and we will correct it promptly and visibly, exactly as our corrections policy requires. If we got it right, no letter, lawsuit, or threat will change what the record shows. Attempts to intimidate our reporters or sources will themselves be treated as reportable events, and may be published.
